How to make concrete floor smooth and shiny​

f you want to make your concrete floor shine, there are two options: concrete polishing or a clear epoxy coating. Polished concrete is the finest option for your concrete to preserve that natural industrial aesthetic because the epoxy will appear as if the floor is coated despite being transparent and glossy.

Making concrete shine with Polished Concrete

Polished concrete is the greatest option when you want your concrete to sparkle and have a mirror-like sheen.

1: Remove everything from the area and sweep and mop the concrete floor to clean it.

2: Grind the concrete using metal bond diamonds, starting with 30-grit, 60-grit, 80-grit, and 120-grit diamonds.

3: Apply concrete grout to the floor, filling in any holes or cracks; mending the concrete, the polished concrete is taken to the next level.

4: Remove the grout with 50-grit resin pads; a second pass may be required to remove all grout.

5: Apply concrete densifier to the floor and polish it using 100-grit resin pads, then 200-grit, 400-grit, 800-grit, 1500-grit, and 3000-grit resins. With every step, you'll notice the concrete becoming glossier.

6: To protect the shiny new concrete floor, clean it and put a stain protector on it.

7: Finish your new floor with a burnisher, eliminating the residue from the concrete sealer and adding a layer of shine to the concrete.

Is polished concrete cheaper than epoxy floors?

Polished concrete flooring usually is more expensive than epoxy flooring, but it will last twice as long.
